Through the Grass (Lion African Safari)

Stayed with two male lions for a while this is one of the last shots before they disappeared. Tricky one with focusing and the grass, I never use eye detect or subject tracking in scenes like this.

Nice work! I've found eye tracking has improved a lot, but yeah in some situations (esp reeds/long grasses) the AF just ends up getting all kinds of confused.

Looks like an older cat who's been through a lot, ears ripped, greying/whiting fur on the face. Can't tell if its "old cat balding a bit" around the jaw/mouth or "I've just eaten and not cleaned yet"

Thanks, Yes very true I think even the newest mirrorless will be searching a bit.
Older cat for sure, there were two of them the other looked sick
