TLR street photography trick

I just read this on another forum, and it cracked me up, but it's a great idea for TLR street shooters.

If you cut off a toilet tissue roll core, spray it with flat black paint and stick it over your focusing knob, you can get great candids of nearby people by pointing the real lens to the side & twist the roll to focus. People think you are shooting 90-degrees away from them.

but anyway, the fastest method is the usual hyperfocal one : TLRs are serious enough to have a depth of field scale on it. With mine, at 16, evrything is sharp from 10 ft to the infinite...
