Well here's the story. I climbed a 30' hillside, that turned to mud half way up. Had to crawl hands and knees the last 6'. Got to the fence, and tried a shot but nowhere to backup to. Should have deleted the shot. but after all that I was determined to salvage. Bad call. Bad post. Learning experience. mea culpa. later Ed

Ok, well I am neither arsty nor.. ok, well I'm not artsy. But I do like this shot. It could very well just be me, but I rather like the fact that there is no sharp focus here - it just sort of fits in with the subject itself. Look at this fence - this thing was not a master piece of design or engineering even when they first put it up. It doesn't cut a swath - it meanders. Being out of focus just sort of fits.

Like I said, could just be me. But I like it.

I'd blur it more, possibly selectively around the edges. Once you start down that road ...

I see. Sounds like you really had a hell of a time just getting that shot. I would have kept it too, if I had to climb on my hands and knees up a mud hill. I like the layout of the picture a lot. No need to beat yourself up over it.

No, I would consider the shot a keeper. Not every image has to be "sharp" - look at the stuff Pixel Rabbit (Judi) does. Plus the title and the picture really support each other. And this type of fence doesn't really keep anything "out", as a little push and it will probably fall apart. I'm thinking that CameraClicker got it just about right. Ed - no need for self-recrimination. You post stuff that occasionally needs a little grey-matter exercising. And that's good.
