I have four shots from today that I was semi-satisfied with. Let me know what you think and please feel free to edit.

The focus is a little bit off

Some of the colors in the background are distracting

Should have gone wider

Red in back is distracting

I posted what I noticed right off the bat.

Word of advice ... You are noticing some of your flaws and that is commendable, however I recommend that you pause and look before you press the shutter and you'll see the SAME issues with time to keep them out of the shots. It only takes a second. Focus is easy to fix, a half-step left or right is easy to fix, a twist of the zoom ring is easy to fix. Much easier before you press the shutter than getting home and wishing you had taken a quick look around and seen something. Looking is the first step in seeing.

HOly crap, it's not even been an hour and a half since your original post....... just like taking the pictures, take your time. lol

Put your camera on a single focus point, then you control what is in focus and what is not. Set the focus, then while holding the shutter button halfway to hold the focus recompose the shot for what you want it to look like. Takes less than half a second once you get used to doing it.
Look for emotion in the shot, get the subject doing something, looking at something, but something to elicit a feeling. A guy sleeping in a wheel chair or in a lawn chair does not get me going. But then from the group of images you posted it looks like sleeping on the fishing pier is normal.

Ok, thanks. Those were all taken with the center focus point. In terms of the sleeping fisherman...I just need to get used to photographing people when they are awake. I usually get intimidated and struggle to walk up to someone for a shot.

Lol exactly all the your constantly posting just to move your thread back to the top of e list gets really annoying.

But the thing I find REALY odd is that in your original post you said you are satisfied with them but yet you yourself pointed out issues with them. That does not sound like satisfied to me.
