Yes sir, jewel weed. When you hold the seed pods in your hand, they " explode " and shrivel up. Feels just like something alive is wriggling in your hand. Will have to edit pics of the pods and post them. Good eye!

I suppose that is why they are also called "Touch- Me- Nots"

Here is a picture of their seed pod. I have only ever seen solid green ones before, so I had to take a pic of this colorful one.

This is what the pod looks like after it " explodes " and curls up in your hand. Must be the effect of heat.
