I get it. I'm just not a HUGE fan of square crops. But it would probably work well in this case.

Cool. I think I like the b&w version better.

My first thought was the square crop as well.

Peer pressure at it's finest. Just this once won't hurt, but you may change your mind and start cropping everything square. lol

Very nice, I think that it looks much better that way. To me removing the negative space helps this one.

I like the originals,left as is and like both the B&W and Color.Nice prep and shots.

So this is KIND of interesting....

I posted both the color & monochrome versions on Flickr and the black & white one was liked the most. However, the color one had more engagement like comments whereas the B&W had none, but a lot more likes.

On Instagram, everyone really liked the color version.

On Facebook, everyone prefered the color version instead of the black & white one.

I just found it interesting that a lot liked the black & white one here at TPF and on Flickr. - The only explanation is that there are real photographers at TPF and Flickr rather than Instagram and Facebook.

I probably shouldn't look too much into it, but it was just a fun and simple observations. I'm sure time of day I posted the photos had an effect.
