Trying to upload an image, but the file is too large... is there anyway I can "shrink" the file size? and what do I need to do to prevent this in the future

What software do you have for editing / resizing? Photoshop, lightroom, elements? Gimp, picasa, faststone?

I usually resize to something like 1024 long side... and also save for WEB (which will compress the file size).

I resize my photos to 4x6 inches or vice versa, and set the resolution at 250. I have not troubles uploading after I started using this formate. Your images are too large, down size them some how.
