That's a cool concept. You could also title it something that refers to the gentleman with the cane who was clearly parked for the entire shot

I like your photographs.

Do you have a flickr or something, link to more of your photographs? I would like to see them

Thanks all. :)

not sure why did you ignore my question but ok.. just noted

Beautiful light and colors. Nicely done!

Very cool. Could you explain to a noob how you captured the shot?

Thanks

Nice. I would crop off the left so the guy with the cane upper left and the girl under the dine sign are equal to the photo edges.

terrific concept.
Perhaps cropping off at the right to remove a couple of the static figures and the eye-catching sign, blurring a couple of the static figure left and plaing the one figure at left right in a power position.

yes im curious. some people have long ghosting and it seems others are shorter.... did you blend a few together or is this one shot? either way i love it

That was my thought, he could title it - The world is passing him by, or something to that effect. By the way very cool shot.

Thanks for all the comments!

This is a single shot using a 10 stop ND filter.

D700 | Nikon 85mm f/1.4 D @ F8 | 5 sec |

The concept is the same as shooting water falls with blur except that people, unlike water, move in varying and unpredictable patterns and speed. Finding the right shutter speed for a particular scene can be challenging, as too much time allows for too much blur and reduces the variation between moving and stationary objects. That variation is what makes the shot more interesting (IMO). I think I took about 10 shots from different locations and focal lengths. This is the one I liked the most.

I kind of like my original non-cropped shot, but I agree with Lew that losing the right side provides a singular focal point in the man with the cane. There's more of an impact with that one focal point. It does get rid of the blue sign that kinda bugs me, but I do like having the woman there and kind of miss her in the crop. Something to think about.

Thanks again!

Ok another vote for the Travelers (Lew) crop. I look at the women who are also clear, but with just the man in 'focus' , it's about him against the mad rush. ( to me anyway)
great shot!
