Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I just HAD to speed a little to make sure I was there early enough. I swear I didn't see the policeman! So much for getting there with ample time to set up haha. When I finally got to my spot, the light was starting to fade fast. I only took about a minute to set this up, and was still just behind the best light. Anyways, here's my go from tonight.

Nice shot! I really wanted to mess with it some, here is my take with alittle editing...

Sharpened, Adjusted Curves, Brightness and Contrast.

Could've done without the bush in front. Lighting is great.

I know how fast the 'good' lighting fades at night. Mother Nature waits for no one.

I also think Tulsa's editing is a little heavy. I also know it is difficult, but I would have tried my darnest to shoot with the shrub and without the shrub. The one without the shrub maybe a tighter shot. It is easy for me to say, I have no idea what your physical surroundings were like.

Nice job trying to get there with the good lighting, I know exactly how you were feeling while driving there.;)

I do not know how far you traveled, but this area looks like it is worth getting there one day early to set up a couple more shots.

I like the lighting...... and the bush. :D

It seems to get lost in the foreground a little though, but I don't know what could have been done about that.

Thanks guys. The "bush" referred to is actually an old dead cactus, so hopefully that might quell some of the jokes ;) The reason it was included in the shot was to attempt to have a little more foreground interest going on. If I would have thought of it then, I should have backed up and zoomed in, to make it appear smaller against the cliffs in the back. And had my perspective slightly higher to keep it from sticking into the sky.

This is definately a spot I will head back to, and try to work a little more with composition. Technically speaking, this was taken on private land that will soon be subdivided (sadly enough). Although there is a BLM trailhead 1/4 mile away that they can't block access to :)

Also, here's another edit of the same photo. In the first, I didn't mess with colors at all. This time, I actually chose to desaturate the lit cliffs and skies just a touch, and played with the contrast slightly.

I think the bush, sorry Cactus;) is jumping out to much at me on that one. Maybe due to the added contrast. Think i still prefer the 1st one.
