Tree B&W

This is one of my first posts on this this forum taken with a Pentax K100D super w/ 18-55mm kit lens. Tell me what you think!

I don't really know... The lighting is pretty harsh. Like the abrupt shadow right there, it's a big distraction.. Nature, especially in fall, tends to retain color, not go B&W. did you expose it wrong? Get white balance way off? Or think it just looked better like this? Not trying to be rude at all I'm just asking..

its just a tough shot to get and get good results.. some trees work well for this type of shot some don't.. i'd just go out looking for more trees
