It's an unnatural perch, but I still like it.

Is the tree limb in the background to distracting?

I personally like the branch as it's not in focus and more of a shadow. It adds interest to an already nice shot.

I don't think the branch is distracting. If it was directly behind the bird in some way, then yes it probably would be distracting.

As it is, very good shot, and great detail and sharpness! :thumbup:

Thanks for the kind words. I like to think that this shot shows with a little determination, you can get some good bird shots, even with a shorter lens.
