This was taken whilst walking through a park on Xmas day,

Not bad, I like it, pictures of trees from low angles always fascinate me maybe because the intricate play of branches and nice definition of the tones of sky. From composition PoV the other trees included in the image are distractions.

I don't mind the other trees as they help ground the image. I like it, color works with the feeling, nice job!

I think the the crop works both with the trees and without, the trunk of the tree grounds itself nicely if you crop it just above the other trees through the bulge in the trunk.

Thanks for the advice, yes now that you mention it I should have cropped the bottom out

Yes I have to agree, I should have cropped the bottom third
