This photo was made with the camera-tripod setup almost dangling in the air. I'm happy with the results, but the fact that the gear came back home in one piece made me even happier.

(By the way, if this looks familiar to some of you it's because this is a reshoot. I photographed this same spot a couple months ago from a different angle, with a different lens, and using a different crop. The processing is different as well.)

I think there's no such thing as 'should'. I like the composition as it is. Great shot, invisible.

Nice. I like the square crop too - I had a bit of a square cropping phase a while ago. I also agree with everyone that there is no "should" in composition. Have you tried placing the staircase in the top right corner, so that the balustrade closest to the lens has more leading length?

If it were me, the bottom floor would be centered.
