And what ARE the new settings you tried? Can you elaborate?

mostly the manual settings to get a better feel for it, with & with out flash. My new camera is giving me alot to learn considering what i came from..

also i get alot of " your sky is blown out", so i was tying to work on that also.. hence the statue ...
