I feel like this is too bright, hurts my eyes, but someone said they really liked it so I figure I'll see what you guys think

That cat was a stray cat that kept sneaking into our apt and sleeping with me, it kind of grew on me, two more for comedy purposes (thats me sleeping)

I like the waterfall in the first one but would prefer the sky to be not blown.

I also like the flower

Funny...that I have to ask you where was that waterfall >_> *IS from PR*. I'd say the rocks is the better photograph. They're nice, but I dont find any particularly special....sorry.

And hey, at least you made it out alive (unlike poor rob machado >_>)

I think number four is my favorite. Simple yet interesting.

Regards,
Jake

I think these are ok overall, but there are a couple of things I note:

1) The waterfall: Sky is overexposed and right side is underexposed. Cropping the picture to show less of the right-hand side forest and also cut a little of the sky would improve the image. During the shooting you could have used bracketing and then merged the exposures afterwards to get good alround exposure (if you had a tripod).

2) The cat: Love it, espcially the glass-blue eyes. Looks like a mean fellow...but then again your other cat-poses sort of contradict that, hehe.

3) The tree: I've previously asked "can logs be interesting", I'm still not convinced. At least the background should be more blurry to emphasize the tree in the front.

4) The Rocks: Hmmm....yes and no...I think you could have done more with the foot, i.e. used it somehow. As it stands now there's nothing leading the eye anywhere....a more prominent foot might have created some foreground interest....hmmm

5) The flower: Generally ok, but perhaps a polarizer would have given it deeper colors, seems like the focus is not on the yellow pollen...maybe it should have been...depends on the "message".

Thanks :), haven't posted here in a while I forgot how much I can learn from just one thread, thanks guys

my biggest problem is I'm lazy, I kinda just take snaps as I'm walking around exploring, the only one I actually tried to plan and frame was the cat, and thats because she was sitting in front of my door.

I'm only not lazy when I'm shooting surfing, I'll post some of those up later, I'm curious to see some critiques on those
