Tripod help - Bogen 3011?!

I currently have a Bogen 3011 Pro Tripod and I want replace the head and purchase a quick release but it seems that this model is discontinued and its very hard to find any information on it. Are the heads universal? Usually I can find something online but with all the model numbers etc. there isn't a list that just describes what is compatible what what. Everything seems to be attached with hex head screws and clamps but I'm just not sure. Thank you in advance

Thank you David, I will check that out. I know Arca-Swiss makes some really nice stuff so I'm sure it's out of my budget but I will do some research. I purchased the tripod used so maybe I can find a ball head used as well, thanks again for taking the time.
