Trouble removing unwanted person

I will admit I am fairly new to photoshop and while I am learning very quickly I am having difficulty with this picture. I am editing this photo for a dear friend of mine at no cost. She asked to have the person in the middle of the picture removed. I have successfully removed several objects from other photographs however there has been more background data to fill in the background with photoshops magic fill feature.

I would love if someone could A: edit this photo by removing the person from the center of the photo.
B: explain to me how this was done

I am in a bit of a time crunch. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.


On another note. This is my first post here as I just recently came across this forum searching for clues on what to do. Hello, everyone. I am very excited to be here. Seems like a great place to be and people are very nice, yet honest.
