Truffula Trees....(Macro brings out the Suess)

I was walking in the mountains behind my house today. There were some wonderful things to see. With a little imagination (and a flash and extension tubes), these seed pods turned into Truffula Trees.

IMO, #2 is the best of the set, it has direction that the others lack. Some of the others are also blown out. That said, I wish it weren't underexposed (just a hair). Some more flash on your subject and a lower ISO would have worked well to really separate your subject out from the background.

Overall, good job! Extension tubes are one of my favorite setups.

Very nice set. I love the way the tufts fall-almost like they are dancing.

Thanks. Still working on the ideal lighting for these. I thought it might be fun to gather a bunch of these and create a but of a truffula tree forest out of them.

My boy is addicted to the Lorax......so, when I saw these hanging from dried vines, I thought I'd have a little fun.

They are too delicate to bring down the mountain.....and I'm too sore today to get back up it.....but I'll be back.
