This was, to be honest, my first try at shooting a human. Definitely made me realize why I usually stick to pets... Humans are so much harder to shoot! I'm a bit disappointed with the photos, I feel like the reflections in her glasses kind of ruined them, and the posing was a bit awkward, but the light was beautiful and I actually managed to get a couple that she was happy with so it's all good.

Would love any tips/comments you guys have!

The first is waaayyy too stern an expression and rigid a pose.

The second is a quite lovely pose, smile and setting. Nice sharpness, color, etc.
Quite nice for your first try at people.

She needs to be bigger in the frame, I think.
A bit lighter on her, a bit more in the center (I added some foliage on the right)
I darkened the background and brightened her face and coat a bit so she stands out more.

See, I actually don't mind her expression in the first one! Maybe because I'm used to it, since it's just her usual "resting" expression. But I can see how it could look a bit stern. I do agree about the pose though.

As far as the second one goes, thanks for the tips! I'll have to fiddle with it some more in lightroom.
