Trying to shoot an airshow

This is my attempt to use my D90 with the 18-105mm kit lens at an airshow. The photo of the inverted stunt plane with the T-6 in the foreground is my favorite and I think is relatively unique for an event of this type. Of course, I could be wrong. I'm also curious what you folks think of the "portrait" of my friend. I'm here for feedback, so feel free. Thanks, Mike.

Good shots. Having the props blurred a bit more helps convey the sense that they are moving.
The inverted aerobatic airplane (Extra 300?) with the T-6 in the foreground may not be unique but it makes the image pretty strong.

It's hard to call it a portrait when your friend only occupies 1/100 th of the image frame.

The Mikoyan-15 sure is a pretty airplane.

My only amateur comment is that the portrait doesn't really look like a portrait and more like a guy who photobombed your picture. If you were doing a portrait, I would put him foreground and the plane in the back.


This makes me want to go shoot an airshow!
