Trying to work in CS5....a photo of a horse for CC please

Once you select the Patch tool you have 2 choices in the tool options bar: Source or Destination.

Select Source and draw out a 'patch' that you want to use. Then click Destination and you can then drag the 'patch' you drew out to whever in the image you want to apply the patch.

CS5 has like 60 tools. That doesn't begin to include the many options available with with tool and doesn't venture into all the other functions and featyres CS5 has.
In short, there is a ton of stuff to learn about. frankly, online tutorials won't cover in an organized manner all that is to know about the tools and functions.

Which is why I use a book for reference: Adobe Photoshop CS5 for Photographers: A professional image editor's guide to the creative use of Photoshop for the Macintosh and PC

Martin covers a lot of ground. Including the index the book is 675 pages of organized Photoshop tool, features what-they-do descriptions. I highly recommend it.

You know about AdobeTV.com? KelbyTV.com? Open CS5 and press the F1 key on your keyboard?

Nope I didn't know about those I just added them as favorites... I have been using the help section quite a bit to figure things out and didn't know it was as simpled as F1 I normally just click on the help part. If I can't find it there i google it and found a photoshop forum if i remember correctly.

Well Adobe TV is actually - Adobe TV

The F1 key gets you to the same place Help > Photoshop help, does, but with just a single key stroke.

The F1 key works in Lightroom and Elements too.

here is an edit i did. started with levels and adjusted the white poin and chose the middle eyedropper and clicked on the gray part of the horse to remove the excess green cast. enlarged the canvas a bit to the left and cloned the bg to fill the vacant area created by enlarging the canvas. cloned out the tree line on top of the horse then selected the horse using quickmask and varied the brush hardness to match the horse's edge. inversed the selection to darken and desaturate a bit the bg. i used cs2
