The simplicity of this composition has something "Japanese" to it (and now I hope I didn't say anything politically incorrect here) - it reminds me of Japanese flower arrangements that only come to true "life" with very few, but very wisely arranged elements. That's what I mean to say.
What is the word for this kind of traditional flower arrangement again? Ah, I remember: Ikebana.

Where am I now?
I love everything about it. In fact I think it is one of the best pictures I've seen on the board. How much for a print?

Thanks everyone! Flashspeedo, I agree this scan is a tad soft, I am hoping the flower part will sharpen up just a bit when I print it. As for the grain, well that's just in my blood.

Hertz, after a compliment like that, I would gladly send you a print for nothing! :)

What a beautiful photo. The grain, lighting and composition really pull together to make this an outstanding shot.

Nothing more to add to the above comments.

Just wish the flower looked more sharp. Glad to know it will be sharper with the final print.
