Two B&W Shots - CC Please

Hi, i'm pretty new to the forum (actually I registered sometime ago but never posted, and forgot about pf until now) and photography itself, anyway, I thought you guys could CC these two B&W shots so I can learn a little bit more.

Although the first doesn't really strike me as an interesting shot, I love the patterns. And the flare gave the second picture something special. Great shots.

Thank you for the input! I know these aren't precisely the most interesting photos you can see here, but those are the very first shots with my DSLR [an old Canon Rebel XT] that I got two months ago.

The first shot needs to be straightened horizontally - the bridge looks like it's leaning to the right... I'd be scared to walk over it. Try getting the highest point of the rail on the left and the highest point of the rail on the right to be level with each other. It's a nice shot though - I love the contrast.

I'm not a fan of the second shot - mostly because the bridge is centered.

I'm gonna try to edit the first one and see how it turns out.

Actually the centered bridge was what I was looking for, I know that some people will like it and some people won't, but your comment made me happy anyway, because as I said, that's what I was going for
