Two birds

I don't normally shoot birds but I got these the other day and thought I' post.

The first one is a little blurry but I like the exception on his face... It's almost as if had just had a bad berry... lol... the second one of the blue heron(?) is my favorite of the two though.

Yes the first one was with 150mm in lowish light handheld. On top of that, I cropped it tight which amplified the blur...Live and learn on that one. The Blue Heron would not sign a release form, but did allow me to get within twelve feet or so of him.

The first may well have some technical flaws, but I still like how the light catches in his eyes and makes them shine in this wonderful red.

Yes, the heron photo is a nice one and you were lucky he let you get that close - birds and I don't go well together ... they always fly away from me. Always. I wonder how our Sir Raymond (watch out for the bird photography of our member Raymond J Barlow!) does it, or Airic or some of the other great bird people on here ...

The action captured in the photo of the gull is nice, too!
