I decided to go all out and take 9 exposures from -4EV to +4EV after completing my first HDR with only 3 exposures from -1 to +1

I think I managed to get some pretty punchy colors. These were taken with my kit lens (18-55). I've been considering upgrading to a 17-40L or 24-105L, but unless it will produce significantly better photos, I'm fine with these results for now.

C&C is encouraged.

LOVE that second one... going to go 'favorite' it right now.

The second one is pretty cool, but has pretty harsh halos above the hill tops.

Pretty cool. I haven't ventured into HDR yet. What software do you use?

It does, but it almost works... as if it's the moonrise/moonset or something?

Thanks guys.

I used Photomatix Pro v4 and some PP in PS

I just looked at the original files for the 2nd photo and the halo above the hill is natural, although "enhanced" by the HDR process.

The HDR effect on #1 is almost TOO sharp. But it definitely works for #2. Good job.

Thanks guys.

Go back into Photoshop again and un-enhance it.

a lil overdone for my taste, bring it back a tad and it would be better imo

Im still not sure If I get this HDR thing yet.

Is it something about taking the same photo at different aperture settings and then combining them in photoshop?

Part of it yes.....much more to it than that

It involves witchcraft doesn't it.

Damn,
I gave that up years ago.

The first one has really good texture in it. Both are really good

Use the clone tool and pull from the sky to get rid of the halo. Very nice job!
