I like that they are facing each other but no one's sitting in them - like the chairs get to finally chat now that the humans are gone

For me, this is a story-telling photo and the plot would be very different if there were people in it. As it is, the possibilities are brought to life (or restricted) by the imagination of the viewer. You know what they say - no unnecessary elements!

I would have put that leaf between the seats. Or stamp it out.

Because that would serve to draw the eye from the one seat to the other?
