Because he said he bought it from a seller on Amazon and there have been numerous cases of people receiving stolen goods.

But yeah, its probably just a picking mistake.

When you bought it from Amazon, did you use the "Add to Cart" or did you have to contact the seller 1st and they set up the order?

A little research and you'd probably find the same eBay seller had the Nikon and the Canon for sale at the same time...........
