I like to shoot action stuff but i want to get into portraits and things like that. I was thinking an umbrella would be a good start then a little later a vivitar 285 and more umbrellas and all that good stuff. I'm not too sure where to start though lol. Thanks everyone.

Well, if you're going to start doing portraits, here's a list of the order I got my things in. It might be useless, but I wish I had this list before I spent hours doing research.
SB-600 (bought it with the camera, should have bought several Vivitars instead lol)
Strobist DVD (funny story, I downloaded the torrent, and I felt the value to be so much greater then the cost, that I bought it. True story. I have a conscience.)
Westcott 45'' Umbrella
Hotshoe Clamp
Cactus V4 Kit
Westcott 750 Lightstand
DIY Ringflash DIY ring-flash - a set on Flickr (welcome to awesome)
Westcott Apollo 28x28 Softbox
Vivitar 285 x2
2 Cactus V4 Receivers
Westcott 750 Lightstand x2
Hotshoe Clamp
Westcott 60'' Umbrella
Westcott 50'' Softbox
Alienbee B400
Alienbee ABR800 (once I finally had money to buy a real ringflash lol)
That's a lot of money, but little by little you got yourself a badass studio, at minimal expense.
