Umm, What are Canons R-Mount lenses

More over What era are they from, are they worth looking for and what all focal lengths comes on that mount?

I reasently heard that my body can be used with R-Mount lenses (contrary to almost everything else I've read.) So I am wondering if any one has information on them loafin around somewhere maybe even a picture of the lock, or maybe a link to said information.

I must be doing some thing wrong, (witch is entirely possible because I've been up for thirtysome odd hours now) but I am getting only seven hits and they're all dead ends.

Also, Leica makes an SLR series designated the R line. There are several adaptors that can be used to place current R lenses on Canon EF mounts, including some that work with focus confirmation (little red light and beep.)
