Underwater Photography and housing.

Hi,

I am thinking of doing some underwater photography in the near future and was thinking of buying a hard underwater case specifically designed for my digital camera?

Should I also consider a generic soft bag instead? If so can you direct me to some?

Could you please share any advice, info, tips etc etc for undrwater photography that may be helpful.

Apparently I cannot use the inbuilt popup flash unit on my digital camera with the underwater housing on. There is an extra flash unit (UFL-1) which I assume will be another large expense for something I will probably only use once or twice!

Do you think a flash is necessary for underwater snorkelling photography?
