To wet to work in the garden this am so off I went walking the neighborhood. Our neighborhood is in south city. Friday's tornado passed north of us. Still we had strong enough winds to bring down lots of weak trees -- passed these two this morning. Oly Pen E-PL9 w/14-42mm

Saw that on the news. Did it affect you?
Very little. It's odd how much variation occurred between really small areas. The actual tornado passed through north city. Spotty sections of south city got off unscathed or had intense enough winds to take down weakened trees. Were I am on the Hill we had some weakened tree loss and Bradford pears and Sycamores shed some limbs. Over near Carondelet park more and much larger trees were toppled doing some severe damage and that's farther south.

My neighbor had a big branch knock their power out. They got it up yesterday but the cable/phone lines are still laying in the alley. My electric went out for about 2 mins but other than that I was OK.

Yup. Few yrs ago big one that came through here, a man left his house because it didn't have a basement walked across the street to a chuch with basement. The tornado hit the church, collapsed on top of him killing him, and left his house/yard totally unscathed. They do strange things.

It seems like tornado alley has shited to that area!

Sorry to see the downed trees, but glad that both you and @webestang64 - our St. Louis residents - made it through all that okay.

Destructive mess. :(

Sad to see the destruction tornadoes leave behind, and even worse that they seem to be more frequent than ever. I visit the Midwest a few times a year, and am always anxious during my Spring visits.
