Unidentified baby water-bird

We've had some heavy rains lately and there is a "temporary" pond nearby that fills in.
I saw this little guy swimming around but can not identify it.
Any ideas?

Not in Belize I hope, however I think a Grebe chick sounds right.

People who live by the pond just told me that it is a family of Grebes and, based on my book, it looks like they are the Least Grebe.

This looks very similar to the juvenile Great Crested Grebe.
