Unusual finding

Found this unusual thing on the beach. It looks like a bone with a golf ball stuck in it? Did something die after eating this or wonder if the ball coincidentally lodged in it. Any ideas? I know this isn’t our usual type of photo. Lol.

Interesting shot! Looks like the pelvic bone of an animal, not a dog though.

My boss (MD) thinks it’s the spinal column of a horse or cow. Maybe the ball got squashed in there in the waves or someone jammed it in. ??? I’ll bring it to the veterinarian office someday. Or send an email to Cornell.
