Upgrade from Sony A77...

I pulled the trigger..
Have been reading reviews all over, I went with the Sigma 24-105,120-400, and 50mm 1.4.
Oh yea, can't forget the D610

Thank you, unfortunately I just got an e-mail saying the 24-105 is not in stock... So I am SOL on that.

Now I have to pick something else. I'm somewhat ok with paying for the nikon 24-70 2.8.. But the only thing that bothers me about it (besides $1600 price tag) is no VR... So I'm trying to decide what options I have.

24-85 var aperture nikon
24-70 2.8 nikon
24-70 2.8 VC tamron... Not so sure
Wait for sigma 24-104 to come in stock
Any other ideas?

I'm just waiting for my refund then I'm going to order something.

You are going to be VERY happy with it I am sure and I must admit I am a bit envy.

As for the lenses, if you can afford the 24-70 2.8 then its a no brainer, it would be nice to have a good VR on it but even without one it is fast enough for most cases so you will not need the VR.
The Tamron is from what I heard a hit and miss lens, the 24-70 is a very good lens if you are not getting a lemon.
I am not sure about the Sigma.
I have already recommended the 24-85mm VR so I will not add more about it.
3 advantages of the Nikon 24-85 VR over the 24-70mm is
1.Price
2.VR
3.Size

But as I said if money is not an issue I would go for the 24-70mm in a heart beat.

Again... Pulled the trigger and got the nikon 24-70 on order... Damn that hurt my pocket. From all the reviews and what everyone said.. Hope it's worth it, I'm sure it will be though. I'll take pics and upload when I get it all one by one. Should get my 50mm tomorrow.

Because that's what I wanted. I did not think I could swing the extra $ for nikon glass. I have read reviews and I am sure I will be happy with my purchases. Much better then what I have now by a long shot.

I never have owned a flash, so I figured I would get one...
SB-910 and a nice batt pack
Vanguard carbon fiber tripod
Incase dslr pro backpack
And a cheap umbrella setup for the flash so I can start to learn how to use it.

I am so happy with the pics I am taking indoors with the 50mm 1.4 just amazing.
Still have to mess with all the setting and get a good feel for it. So used the the sony GUI.

Thanks! I was able to get one pic of my little boy.

Defiantly a little tricky to focus manually compared to the A77. I miss peaking focus. Over all very different, but better images. SOOO happy.

Got the nikon 24-70 2.8...
And I am not so sure it's new.
Is it normal for there to be marks like it was on a lens, our of the box "new"? It also looked re packed, the lens was upside down in the case. The foam inserts were not where they should be.
