Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Firstly i just want to say hi ;) cause im new to this forum
well, i actually want to ask about upgrading my camera
ive been using Nikon D90 for about 2 years and i would like to upgrade to a camera with a lot of video features
cause honestly im just starting to like taking video haha
im considering Nikon D7000 but still dont know yet
does anyone have a suggestion what camera should i take ? and how much is Nikon D90 worth nowadays ?

Thanks ;)

Depending on what lenses you have, as much as it pains me to say, if video is your preference, you might want to consider switching platforms to Canon. Nikons video features are clunky in comparison.

And the D90, body only, goes for around $650 here in the U.S. Not sure what that is in Austrailian money.

yeah thats what im actually trying to avoid :/ i want to keep on using nikon, but yes as you said canon has more video features.
well thanks for the information and the answer thou ;)

anyone else with different opinion ?

Not sure how much of a rush you are in, but there is a very good chance the D400 will be announced in August (availability is another matter of course)
I don't use video, but my D90 will be replaced by the D400. It might be interesting to see what the video capabilities are for the sensor being used in the new camera.

If you need something now, I think I heard that the D3100 or D5100 was a bit better in video than the D7000.

Check on Thom Hogan's Nikon Field Guide and Nikon Flash Guide for reviews on all 3 cameras. I think that's where I saw he mentioned the D5100 or D3100 being a better choice for vid.

HTH

If you want to do video... sell your D90 and buy a Canon. Canon has the market cornered on video production...

why not buy a videocam instead?
d7000 will create mechanical noise when zooming. it will be heard when you playback your video.

I have to go with Raigoki here, if it's video you want to do then why not invest in a video camera. I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ about this, but I've seen several posts about wanting video out of DSLR, and I just don't understand. I get it if you want the option if the opportunity presents itself to do video, i.e. you have kids and they are doing something cute and you want to catch it on video and you only have your camera. But if you are specifically more intereseted in video, why not a dedicated video camera?

Alot of people are switching to DSLR filming because of their versatility, and lens capabilities

While this is a true statement, those same people are also spending tens thousands of dollars on frames, mounting gear, focusing gear, etc. You can't just buy a DSLR and make professional movies. It doesn't work like that, no matter what the Canon marketing department wants you to think.

just saw the review of nikon D400, im curious and interested with the features inside this camera :D thanks for the suggestion thou

well this idea came up when i saw some people making videos on youtube through DSLR cameras, and it looks great and i see that there is an external microphone for certain cameras (such as D7000, D300s) so im not worried about the noise from the lens but sometimes im thinking the same way, if im really interested in videos, why wouldnt i buy a videocam instead ? thats why im here to ask some people's opinion, anyway thanks for the answers and the suggestions ;)

Not sure what you saw, but it wasn't a review - perhaps just speculation on what it might be. This camera does not exist yet - officially anyway.
It may not even be called the D400 (but, it likely will be).

haha yeah it does not exist yet thats why i said im curious and interested with the features inside this camera ;) maybe i was wrong, it shouldnt be called "review" hehe :D

I agree with getting a dedicated vid camera if you're that interested in the video aspect.

If you manual focus, which most videographers do, you will hear nothing. Have you tried getting the most out of your d90 video first? Have you looked into video post production? http://www.flickr.com/groups/nikond...ptimizing-the-Nikon-D90-D-Movie-Mode-ImageHow serious are you about the video you want to produce?

hmmm im not that serious to do videography cause im just starting to like it, well maybe sometimes in the future i will make it serious (maybe). but my first priority is still photography for now, maybe i was wrong to say that i wanted "a lot of" video features, it should have been a DSLR that has more video features than Nikon D90 :D thanks for the opinions guys ;)
