Upgrading to FX, What lenses do I need? I'm losing my mind.

Today I ordered

• a Nikon 85mm 1.4g lens (which is of course out of stock everywhere, including the Nikon Store) and
• a Nikon 70-200 AFS-G VR-II

Now I'm going to (try) to order a D-800

Following that, maybe a 50mm 1.4 and something smaller.

congrats, I hear nothing but good things about the 85 1.4...

I recently switched over to FX too, and got the 24-70 2.8, and the 70-200 VRII and have been very impressed with them so far, but I haven't been able to really put them to the test too much yet (just got the 70-200 in today). I already had a 150 sigma macro lens which is an excellent lens, and I had a 50 1.8D that I got a while ago.

let us know how you like them once you get a chance to test it all out...the D800 may be a little bit before they are available, last I heard was late march, early april.

I'm a little confused. I thought your wife bought you a D700??? What kind of shooting are you planing on doing with the D800???
