Uploading Photos ?

I'm still finding my feet around here..

So here's what is probably a silly question with an obvious answer;

If I were to upload a very nice photo, which is unlikely, and post it on this forum, what would stop somebody copying it and passing it off as their own, or perhaps even proffiting from it ?

Any help would be nice. Thanks.

Not much.
But a low-res picture such as posted here wouldn't be of much profit to anyone except to repost it. Lots of people put their names/logos on posted pictures but, IMO, that is a waste of effort as they can usually be cloned or cropped out.

In fact it is sort of amusing to me that the most sophisticated thing about some posted pictures is the logo.

Thanks a lot, I wasn't aware that the resolution of a picture is affected when posting.

If you post a picture at the size acceptable by most forums ~800 x 600 and 200 k, it is much too low res for most other uses than web viewing.
