Urban jungle & Lonely tracks

Hi all. I would appreciate feedback on these two photos - your critique of composition, postprocessing and so on. What could've been done better?

I like the second one, which really does evoke a lonely feeling. The subdued colors and the fog really make it work. I'd have been tempted to make it perfectly symmetric, but then I don't know what's just outside the frame.

The first doesn't work for me. I don't like the color scheme, which seems too pink. The composition also doesn't hang together for me - the stuff in the background on the right is a distraction. Cropping might help, but I think a little more space on the left might have been better, but again, I don't know what was over there.

#1: I love these hues; and how the color matches with the red leaves on the ground; composition is a bit off(left is a bit cropped off); I still like it. #2: I'm not fond of railway shots! The way you've matched up the street lines with the railway; wicked! And the fog in the background doesn't make me feel lonely; but intrigued; I want to see more!

Thank you. I did try to make it symetric, but succeded only in 1:1 crop, which I don't think is right for this photo.
As for the second one, I completely agree. I think that the original composition ruined what could potentially be a nice photo. I tried different crops, but none work for me. Post processing is the least of my worries here. (I was aware that the photo isn't good, I just wanted someone to tell me, or confirm my suspicions, why.)

The second one is a win for me. I actually like that it's not symmetrical. It adds a little feeling of uneasiness to the shot.
