Uses for a broken 50mm f1.8 - I need ideas here people!

So I'm now the proud (?) owner of a broken Canon 50mm f1.8 - appears its broken along its common breaking point with the plastic tabs inside giving out and leaving me with two unfixable halves of the lens. I don't feel bad (mostly because its my sisters old lens not mine --- and I didn't break it ) but I need some ideas -- beyond just throwing it in the trash

Someone must have done something worthwhile with these (they break often enough from what I hear )

- Get a reverse ring because I still think you do NOT have enough macro gears. (Of course you need to glue them back first)

What happened is what Canon calls "barrel separation". The Canon 50/1.8 EF Mark II is quite prone to snapping into its two main component halves when it encounters any strong impact.

Find your self a purse snatcher in action and use the lens to throw hitting him in the back of the head knocking him out saving the day and get the huge reward for capturing the serial criminal and use that to get a lens that works.
