Landscapes are definitely not my forte, I struggled on my California trip since all the landscapes were breathetaking, but I think this one came out well.

Thoughts?

I really like the shoreline, but the ship seems more like an unnecessary element.

Truthfully, if you hadn't mentioned the ship, I wouldn't have noticed it right away. You kinda gotta look for it.

Is there a 'filter' being used, or was it 'added' later....the tops of the frames seems very dark.

Love the composition on both photo's...and I even like the ship in the first(sort of made we wonder where it was going), but the 'arch' is the winner! Little more detail in the timber would be awesome, but its still awesome. Were those the steps to the beach from the first photo?

I actually like the first shot. I just can't get excited about those fences in the second, though I agree the arch framing the ship is great.

The sky is empty. The lighting is flat. What is your subject? The carrier or the rocks? The vertical format doesn't work because the stairs are cut off. The second shot is more interesting.
