I tried that beforehand and posted on another forum , it didn't work.. The rocks blended in too much with each other and the impact was lost.

I see what you mean about the straight B&W. But it seems like it has less contrast that the other one and that could make the difference.

Which one , the last shot i posted?.. Because i don't like that one , was just showing it to that poster

its the most prominent on the 3rd one, but you can see it in the 2nd as well (hidden under layers of filters and effect)

Bags of texture in that top one! And the contrast between stone and sky gives an illusion of movement to the clouds.

Quite the menacing feel to your second image.

The first one reminds me of the crazy haunted castle on the orignal Haunting movie.....eerie! I love it as well as the 2nd!
