Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
This one didn't turn out anything like I'd hoped and, initially, I was going to trash it. But there's a quality to it I kinda' dig:

It's like one of those scenes in a horror movie, where you're screaming inside your head, "don't go over there, don't go over there!"

Yeah, I get a bit of a "Bates Motel" vibe from it...

don't kid yourself this is pretty week...

Maybe instead of trying to be clever by offering no insight whatsoever, you could explain what you see as shortcomings in the photo. As it is, though, t the only thing which seems to be "week" [sic] is your command of the English language.

If it's lacking, tell me why. If you're not able to do that, and you just belch up something ignorant like you have, you and you and your opinion will be quickly dismissed...

Come on man you know yourself that this is just a snap shot worthy picture. You don't even need HDR to capture this image. A long exposure would be just fine along with some editing.

THe subject is just dull. Perhaps if you would have focused more on the sign with a close up of just the sign maybe this would be ok but IMO its just a snap shot posted up awaiting approval.

all righty then....
has there been a full moon recently?
if useful critique cannot be given in at least a civil manner, it should not be given at all.
this is the one and only warning for this thread, and that goes for responses for inappropriate critique.
keep it civil, or keep it off the forum.

thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping this forum a friendly place.

What do you see as the subject, the building or the sign?

Oh, and for what it's worth, I sold a print of that a few days ago for $80.00. That's really all the "approval" I need.

I guess some people just like snapshots...

My first thought, right out of a movie. I can certainly see other ways to shoot this and get a significantly different feel but I think longer exposures etc... would take the raw dark and dirty out of it and make it more .... Digital? If that makes sense!

Steve, it looks like an interesting subject. Do you have the raw? Have you considered bringing some of the other elements up in post? (or is that even how you felt the image fell short?)

BTW, I bet you could get away with a little creative cropping. Somehow it feels like this would work better with more of a panorama feel to it. Might accentuate that arrow a bit. Just an idea.
