Vintage effects in PS CS5 C&C

I tried going for a vintage effect in this photo, I also added a bit of sun light. Can anyone give me a few tips of how to make this better?

When you say vintage effect... what exactly did you do to it? (Layers etc)

Personally I find the lens flare distracting and the face looks a little OOF

Which 'vintage' look are you going for HarrisonK? Maybe just boost/cut one of the RGB channels in a color mixer will give you the look you want.
