Hi. Isn't it a bit over exposed ? Looks like the whole woodwork was just painted with particularly bright white paint. Total zone 10. And then shadows are placed in zone 1 or 0. Subject has very large dynamic range. If your camera cannot handle this maybe HDR would be in order ?

I use Tony Kuyper's digital assets for blending but realistically, with today's PS or even LR, this can be achieved rather easily without a plug in program.

The B&W image was made from a very contrasty color original. The railing
WAS white and in the bright Nevada sun, it was probably the best that could be done!
