Took these today using my Canon Rebel XS, my 18-55mm lens, a circular polarizer, and a ND2 (1 stop) filter. I would have liked to take shots with a little longer shutter speed, but I think I need some darker filters, like an ND4 and ND6.

Anywayz, these are 6 shots of Waimea Falls on Oahu. First try at waterfall photography. All shots are between 1/10 & 3/10 of a second.

great shots, 3 is definitely my favorite

Whats the Exif info? I like number six. Trying shootin at like f/22 then you could lower your shutter a bit. I dont think you need darker filters. But Im not sure. -Danny

1,2, and 6 are my favorites, although 2 might be a little heavy in the blue range.

Excellent work!

The other ones are good, you captured the motion well and the rocks are pretty sharp, but I think they lack context.

What brand of ND filter are you using? That's my next purchase for my XS.

You might also try a faster shutter speed for a different perspective, and/or move the camera around to shoot other subjects in the area with falls being a mere afterthought.

Sorry! Just thinking out loud.:blushing:

I like #2 best, btw.

I like them all. I agree wwith you that a longer shutter speed would have been better.

1, 3 and 6 are definatly my favorites. Very good job on them all!

These are all shot at at least f/22. I went for the smallest aperture i could to take the longest shutter times.

just some cheapo brand i got at ritz. my polarizer was expensive though.

Beautiful photos. FWIW, I like 1, 2 and 6 the best because you captured the beginning and the end of the falls. The others cut it off at either the top or bottom.
