Waiting on the 85mm 1.8!!

Ok it's been THREE months now since the nikkor 85mm 1.8g has been on back order through adorama. Does anyone know how long items stay on back order through them? I feel like ordering somewhere else but I ordered during the rebate and got $100 off and got a free filter kit. Anyone else impatiently waiting on this lens??????

nope. already have the 85mm 1.8D, and no need to upgrade it. its one of my favorite lenses though!
great purchase decision. have you considered checking ebay or amazon? Keh or B&H?

Walmart.com has it but its for $499. I ordered mines for $398. BH is back ordered and amazon is out. I'm thinking I should just give up and order from Walmart.

Amazon Samy's camera shows 1 left $469.00.Have not a clue on there reputation though.Seller feed back is 4.8 over the last 12 months. http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-85mm-Nikkor-Digital-Cameras/dp/B00005LE75 Oh wait thats the D version sorry.Why not the D version since you have a D700 or is the G version IQ better.

I gave up and bought a Rolleiflex instead. Paid a bit more but hey, it's a Rollei.

Sounds like you got a great deal from Adorama!!! How was payment made? Have they charged your credit card yet? Have you contacted them about this lengthy delay?

I'd give them a call about it, 3 months is a very long time.
