Good image - gotta love that TMax developer for the tonal range. Only thing is I think you need to darken the ice(?) to the right of the boat.

We will call it river foam

I see your point on the HC spot to the right, distracts the eye serving no real purpose. Darkening it may also bring out the rock.... Appreciate the suggestion.

I'd like to put up my edit, not to say I improved on your image...but I thought your image would be a great one to practice on after reading some things.

What I tried to do was bring out the trees in the back, darken the water, bring out the foam trail...kill the brightness of the foam on the right of the boat...and add some depth perception to the boat itself. a few other things here and there as well, but those were the main points I was going for.

Curious as to thoughts.

Like what you did with the foam and water. I prefer the original boat because it was more about the contrast with the white seats. Not a bad effort overall.

hrm...I was not even aware I lost the contrast of the seats vs. boat. Good call.

I brought back out the seat, probly a bit much but it was quick effort to see what was lost. dunno why, but this is just a fun image for me to mess with. lol.

It just dawned on me..dunno if it was the OP's point, but having the seat stand out so much fits the title of "waiting" sort of "the seat is where you belong...and the boat is waiting for you to come and get where you belong" or something like that. lol
