want secondry camera help needed???

hey all just getting to this thing we call photography an im more then happy with my nikon d3100 awesome camera an a good intro into the art
but now i lookin for a point an shoot to carry around for those times when the nikon is to big
ive narrowed it down to
Nikon Coolpix P310 Digital Camera - Black 3 inch LCD: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
Olympus XZ-1 Digital Camera - White 3 inch LCD: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics
open to options if u have other ideas in a similar price range obviously picture quality foremost in my mind cheers for the help guys

Ken Rockwell suggests the Canon Powershot S100 IS.

I've checked it out in the shop and I indeed was amazed how small and light this camera is.

However, if you only got a D3100, the S100 might be too expensive for you. It costs around $400, after all.

yeah thats half a macro lens does look nice tho yeah think my price bracket is $250 ish not sure as i in the uk an u prob pay less for cameras over there as its £380 here, where the nikon p310 is only £220

I have the S100, which I bought as a second cam it is quite amazing. Wide zoom is 24 mm, which I realized delayed my need for a high end wide angle at least for a bit. It has an incredible amount of features - auto HDR, super vivid, and many auto modes. It has an f2.0 wide aperture, but only stops down to f8, but also has a build in ND filter to help in bright daylight. I use this with an Eye Fi for the ability to send selectively to social media.

I don't have experience with the other cams you mention so I have no input.
