water photography C&C please

settings i used: Focal length: 55mm | Exposure time: 0.77sec. | ISO: 400 | F-number: F/36 | exposure program: manual | metering: pattern

The water effect was make it but It will look for a different composition.
 
i agree, i like the effect, but the rest of the image is just blah.
the colours are also very bland, not much else of interest

thanks, any tips to adjust the colors? should i use photoshop? or are there any settings i could do in my camera to improve the color?
 
maybe a tighter shutter so the water isnt so blurred. Is there a spot where the sun might be shining on the water to give it a little more life?

thanks for the comment..i'll try a tighter shutter next time around..although this was taken on a late afternoon so there would be no sun anymore but nevertheless thank you for the suggestion i'll be compiling all suggestions and make a better photo out of it on my next shoot..
 
try decreasing the shutter speed, while using a neutral density filter and iso 100, works like a charm for my water shots
 
A nice leaf wold look good or something else to add to the comp :)
