C&C welcomed as always.

The third frame is the only one that works, not sure about the black and white though. The other shots are pretty weak, a head bobbing in the water, a ball floating on the water, they don't say water polo. The last one is too lose to work really well, the shot is there, just too loose.

Crop tighter and get down flat on the deck so you are not shooting down on all the shots.

wasn't allowed to be within 10 feet of the pool, so being 'flat of the deck' would have entailed getting about 5-6 feet of the ground around the pool in the front of the shot. and the lower you get the more the waves block faces anyway. as high as I was up, splashes and waves blocked faces on about half my shots as was.

Maybe Im not getting what you're saying, but I really don't see how you could shoot water polo any lower than the vantage points in 1,2 and 4. Three I was standing instead of squatting, so it's a bit higher up.

edit: consider shot 3. If that had been shot 'flat on the deck' you wouldn't have gotten anything other than a big splash covering their entire bodies. If ANYTHING is going on at all in water polo, it causes waves and splashes, which if you're not shooting down, will block their faces. Do you have any examples of what you're talking about? Because I don't see how it even could work, even if they did let me shoot flat on the deck from the edge of the pool.

Your shooting position is correct for water polo. The photo positions for the World Aquatic Championships is usually centre of the pool about 10 feet up in the stands and well back from the deck. It allows you to cover the whole pool and above the splash of the players.
